As the election day draws near, Digital Pinoys calls on the Filipino public to remain discerning and vigilant. We strongly urge voters to reject candidates who are either linked to or allegedly own and operate Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (POGOs).
POGOs have long been associated with human trafficking, money laundering, cyber fraud, and violent crimes. Their presence has contributed to the erosion of public safety, the weakening of institutions, and the rise of corruption in both local and national governance.
What is even more alarming is the growing evidence that some individuals seeking public office are receiving support from POGOs or they are allegedly running these operations themselves.
These are not just gaming businesses. They are organized networks that bring instability, fear, and criminality into our communities. When those who aim to govern us are the same ones enabling or operating these criminal enterprises, how can we expect justice, safety, or good governance?
We must never allow our ballots to be used to legitimize illegal and harmful interests. A vote for a POGO candidate is a vote for impunity and exploitation. We call on all Filipinos to choose leaders who are committed to the rule of law, transparent governance, and genuine public service.
Let us not allow our democracy to be hijacked by those who profit from disorder. This election is an opportunity to defend our institutions and protect our future. Let’s use our vote wisely — for our communities, for our country, and for a better tomorrow. ###
