A network of digital advocates announced today that several high-profile influencer pages were taken down by Meta after it was flagged for endorsing illegal gambling sites.
Digital Pinoys national campaigner Ronald Gustilo thanked Meta Philippines and the Cybercrime Investigation and Coordinating Center for acting swiftly on reports concerning social media personalities endorsing illegal gambling platforms.
Four influencer pages with large followings were recently taken down after being flagged for promoting illegal gambling sites:
• Perkz Gaming – 1.1 million followers

• Vic Desucatan – 6.9 million followers

• Awit Gamer – 450,000 followers

• Miss Ginbilog – 6.8 million followers

Combined, the pages had a reach of over 15 million followers, illustrating how illegal gambling operators are using influencer marketing to reach massive audiences online.
Gustilo said the recent takedowns are only the beginning of broader enforcement efforts against social media accounts promoting illegal gambling.
“Taking down these pages is an important step, but the fight does not end there. Many of these personalities operate backup pages that continue promoting illegal gambling, and we are actively monitoring them with authorities,”.
The group revealed that additional pages are already under monitoring and documentation, and more reports have been submitted to authorities and platform moderators.
“We expect more takedowns in the coming days. Influencers who continue to promote illegal gambling platforms should take this as a serious warning,” Gustilo added.
Gustilo emphasized that social media influencers must exercise responsibility when endorsing products or services, particularly when such promotions could expose Filipinos—especially young audiences—to financial harm, scams, and unregulated betting schemes.
